HIGHLIGHT OF THE TRAVEL EXPERT

Shanghai

Like walking on a cloud

Shanghai is a gruelling city. Without anywhere to take a breather, you are soon wiped out. I for one visited a spa after every day. Shanghai is dotted with these small oases – every department store contains one of these places where you can relax and recharge your batteries. Especially popular among the Chinese is a foot reflex zone massage: It doesn’t take long, revives the circulation of blood, and all you have to do is remove your socks and roll up the leg of your trousers. My favourite spa was the Dragonfly, of which there are about ten branches across the city. You make yourself comfortable under a fleecy blanket, and a heated cushion is placed on your abdomen while the masseuse works on your feet (ouch!). Afterward, though, you feel like you are walking on a cloud!

Foot massage, 60 minutes for equivalent of CHF 25.
