    "ab initio" Pilot 

    Responsibilities
    • Safe and economical operation of a commercial aircraft
    • Flight preparation and implementation in accordance with legal requirements
    • Cooperation with ground staff and air traffic controllers
    • Responsible for occupation and passengers

    Requirements
    • Citizen of CH, EU/EFTA
    • 20 – 33 years of age. Birthday when submitting application
    • Height min. 1.60 m / max. 1.98 m
    • Swiss European Air Lines AG
      Minimum requirement: highest college grade with completed work apprenticeship (at least 3 years)
    • Swiss International Air Lines AG
      Matura/A-level (school-leaving examination) or work apprenticeship/advanced technical college entrance qualification or certificate of accreditation at a college of higher education


    Languages
    • German: Certificate level B2 as per the European Language Portfolio. (To be submitted at the time of application)

      Applicants with German or French native or everyday language are excepted from this rule. For French-speaking applicants, the following applies: reasonable knowledge of German is required at the end of the selection process i.e. at the time of interview. If the level demonstrated does not meet our requirements, the relevant certificate – B2 or AKAD level - must be verified before entry to pilot training.

    • English: Native language or certificate of level B2 (7), e.g. Cambridge First Certificate A or B (required at a later date)

    Official duty (applies to all applicants liable for military service)
    • Applicants liable for military service must have completed basic military service (CH: Rekrutenschule – Military Training School) or civilian service (CH: “langer Einsatz” – long-term duty) at the time of application.
