Every year, qualification tournaments and a final take place at attractive golf courses in Switzerland. Here we present a video of the SWISS Golf Traveller Final 2012.

SWISS Golf Traveller members can now until end of April 2013 register for play at these popular tournaments.

Qualification tournaments

Final

Our new tournament partner, cosmetics company Artdeco, will be represented at our tournaments. After each tournament, a professional make-up expert will be available to provide tips for women participants. At the same time, renowned tobacconist Davidoff will be presenting exclusive hand-rolled cigars.  

Players who tee-off early are entitled upon finishing their round to attend a free skills workshop (14:00 and 15:00) given by experienced golf instructor Thierry Rombaldi, Class A, Swiss PGA member.

Registration

The number of players per tournament is limited to 110. In past years, the available places have been booked quickly. Registrations are handled in the order in which they are received. You may register for play at more than one tournament. However, we now ask you to indicate your priority choices on the registration form. To ensure that every SWISS Golf Traveller member interested in participating is able to compete in at least one tournament, this year only one tournament per member will, where possible, be confirmed. If your first priority is no longer available, you will, where possible, be automatically registered for play at your second or third priority or a selected tournament.

In early April you will receive your own personal overview showing your status for the various tournaments. You will receive a final update two weeks before the tournament begins.

Starting times

4 categories will be played according to where the players live:

• Category “early start“: players living within 40 km of the tournament course
• Category “middle start“: players living within 80 km of the tournament course
• Category "later midfield": players living within 120 km of the tournament course
• Category “late start”: players living 120 km or further from the tournament course
  

Please note: as players will be assigned by travelling time, no other requests for specific starting times can be considered. 

Schedule

Again this year we will welcome you at a tournament apéro and dinner. Tournament winners will be announced and prizes presented at 18:30. Please note that only those SWISS Golf Traveller members who are present at the prize ceremony shall be entitled to receive a prize and, depending on ranking, qualify for the final.

Rules and conditions

Admission

• Tournaments are reserved for members of SWISS Golf Traveller
• max. handicap 33.0 (exact)

Rules

• Play is accordance with the rules of R & A golf club, St. Andrews
• Stableford scoring
• In the event of tie score, the rules of the club hosting the tournament apply
• The designated day captain is responsible for dealing with rule queries
• 3 handicap categories: A 0-12.0, B 12.1-20.0 and C 20.1-33.0 (grouping according to exact handicap)
• Caddies are permitted but must be registered in advance at the golf club and SWISS Golf Traveller information desk. Use of caddies subject to permission of club. There is also a limit on the number of participants at the evening events. Caddies may attend the evening programme upon payment for the dinner (directly at tournament welcome desk).
• The use of distance measuring devices is subject to the rules of the club hosting the tournament.

Prizes/Final qualification
At the qualification tournaments, the four highest-ranked players per category and the winner on the basis of gross score (“Bruttowertung”) for men and women qualify for the final.

Only SWISS Golf Traveller members who are present at the prize ceremony shall be entitled to receive a prize and, depending on ranking, qualify for the final.

• Published starting lists are binding
• Soft spikes are compulsory
• To register, please use the official form and fill it in completely

Cancellation is possible free of charge up to the Monday before the tournament commences. After that, the full tournament fee will be charged in the event of cancellation or non-appearance. In the event of cancellation due to illness, a doctor’s note must be submitted. Otherwise, the full tournament fee will be charged.
