If you find an item of baggage to be missing upon your arrival at your destination airport, you must report the loss immediately at the airport at the baggage tracing office (Lost & Found).
For losses reported after leaving the arrivals area, SWISS assumes no liability. As a rule, missing items of baggage can be delivered to their owners within 24 hours.
If you are abroad, then in accordance with international guidelines we will reimburse part of the costs for urgently required items such as toiletries, underwear and if necessary a change of clothing. Please keep all the receipts for any outgoings.

Once you have received the item of baggage, please send the missing baggage report and any receipts to SWISS Customer Service by mail.

If your baggage still hasn’t arrived after 3 days, it couldn’t be identified based on the description given at the airport.
In such cases, please send us a detailed list of the items in the baggage. For rapid identification purposes, it is necessary to describe the items and clothing in as much detail as possible.
Please complete the form and send it together with a copy of your ID card by no later than 5 days after the reported loss either electronically by e-mail to lostandfound@swiss.com or by post to:

Note that your arrival airport is responsible for information on your search request for up to 5 days after the loss is reported. You can use the “Baggage tracer” to follow the status of your baggage.

SWISS is liable for late, damaged or lost baggage in accordance with the terms and conditions of conveyance which are a constituent part of the transport contract for the passenger and his/her baggage.
