As a general rule, the free baggage allowance on SWISS flights is as follows:
SWISS Economy: 1 x 23 kg
SWISS Business: 2 x 32 kg
SWISS First: 3 x 32 kg
Baggage items must not exceed a total size (width + height + depth) of 158 cm.

If your baggage item does exceed these dimensions, SWISS will charge for excess baggage.

You may take essential liquid medicines on board with you, but only the amount that you will require during the flight. We suggest you carry with you a medical certificate in English for these medicines.
The following restrictions apply for liquids, gels, creams and lotions:
Liquids must be in a container with a maximum capacity of 100 ml or 100 g.Containers must be in a reclosable clear plastic bag with a maximum capacity of 1 litre.
Only one bag is allowed per person (available from shops/at the airport).
The bag and all the containers must be properly closed and presented at the security check.
As soon as we know more about this, SWISS will adjust the regulations accordingly. However, until the rules change, the restrictions given under Hand baggage and Security regulations will continue to apply.
Liquid baby food may be carried on SWISS flights. We offer special baby food (fruit and vegetable purees) on intercontinental flights. Baby meals can be ordered up to 48 hours before departure either when you book or via the Service Center.
You are permitted to put liquids in your checked baggage. However, special rules apply for certain liquids and spray cans. Liquids that come under the category of Banned items may not be carried.
You will find a list of the items that are not permitted on board under forbidden objects in carry-on baggage.
Items that could endanger passengers' health and safety may not be transported on the aircraft in general. You will find a list of the items that are not permitted on board under dangerous goods.
Your sports equipment will be transported free of charge as long as you do not exceed your free baggage allowance with it. Charges will only incurr if you carry more items than permitted or if your baggage is heavier or bigger than the standard. Register your sports equipment in good time through the Service Center.
Provided your musical instrument does not exceed the dimensions or weight of a normal item of hand baggage, you can take it with you as hand baggage without prior notification.
If your musical instrument exceeds the dimensions or weight for hand baggage, you will have to book an additional seat for it. Please note:
This seat cannot be booked online. Book the additional seat and your own ticket through a travel agent or a SWISS point of sale.
Please note that transportation in the cabin depends on the dimensions of the seats and the respective aircraft type.
If your instrument exceeds these dimensions, it cannot be transported in the cabin but will have to be checked in. Your travel agent or the SWISS point of sale will be able to tell you more.
The price for the additional seat is the currently valid ticket price.
This service is not available on codeshare flights.
You may not take a firearm on board with you. Special rules apply for the transportation of sporting and hunting weapons and ammunition. Weapon and ammunition must be packed in separate containers and checked in one or more items of baggage.
