Björn Näf to leave SWISS

20. January 2004

Björn Näf, former Executive Vice President Product & Services and CEO designate of Swiss Express, has decided to leave SWISS to take on a new career challenge. SWISS regrets his decision. Björn Näf was instrumental in establishing the new Swiss airline.

Having served as a captain for Crossair, Björn Näf made an invaluable contribution to the establishment and early development of SWISS, through his involvement in the “Phoenix Plus” plan and as a member of the company’s Executive Management. As Executive Vice President Product & Services (whose brief included responsibility for all the company’s cabin personnel) he was instrumental in moulding and refining the new SWISS brand.

He was appointed CEO of Swiss Express, SWISS’s proposed new regional airline subsidiary, last May. For reasons already explained, the project was subsequently abandoned. Björn Näf went on to complete management training, and has now decided to leave the company at his own request. SWISS deeply regrets his decision.
