BA collaboration extended to Geneva-London services

12. February 2004

SWISS is to offer all its services between Geneva and London as codeshare flights with its partner British Airways. The closer collaboration forms part of the bilateral cooperation agreement recently signed by the two carriers. The new arrangements will be introduced in two phases: from February 24, all British Airways flights to London (Gatwick) and all British Airways CitiExpress services to London (City) will be operated as codeshares with SWISS; and from the start of the 2004/2005 winter timetable on October 31, British Airways will assume operating responsibility for all services between Geneva and London (Heathrow), which will be offered as BA/SWISS codeshare flights.

British Airways (BA) will operate eight daily frequencies between Geneva and London (Heathrow) from the start of the winter schedules on October 31. All these services will be offered as BA/SWISS codeshare flights. The four daily Geneva-London frequencies currently operated by SWISS will be withdrawn. With three further frequencies to London (Gatwick) and the three flights to London (City), SWISS customers will thus enjoy a broader range of 14 services a day between Geneva and London’s three airports.

SWISS codeshares to London (Gatwick) and London (City)

British Airways currently offers thrice-daily service between Geneva and London (Gatwick). Under the new codeshare agreement, SWISS will now also serve London’s second airport. And London (City) returns to SWISS’s Geneva schedules, thanks to a new codeshare arrangement with British Airways CitiExpress. The new codeshare collaborations will thus offer Geneva-based customers both a broader and a more varied choice of services to and from the UK capital.
