Swiss International Air Lines will outsource parts of its IT infrastructure services and its SAP Base Operation to Swisscom IT Services on March 1, 2005. As a result of this partial outsourcing approximately 50 SWISS employees will transfer to Swisscom IT Services.
As of March 1, SWISS will outsource part of its IT infrastructure to Swisscom IT Services. This decision enables SWISS to lower its costs for IT infrastructure significantly and to structure these costs more flexibly. It also frees SWISS from major financial investments in IT. This step marks further progress in SWISS’s strategy of concentrating on its core business. In particular, the outsourcing affects the support of all electronic workplaces in Switzerland and abroad. Swisscom IT Services will also take over responsibility for the SWISS call center.
