SWISS to reorganise its sales and marketing

15 April 2005

SWISS has announced a reorganisation of its present Sales & Marketing division. Christoph Beckmann will join the SWISS Management Board with responsibility for all marketing activities, while the SWISS sales organisation will be headed directly by CEO Christoph Franz. Oliver Evans, currently Chief Sales & Marketing Officer, will concentrate on the overall management of Swiss WorldCargo. Personnel changes have also been announced at the head of the company’s IT and Aeropolitical Affairs units.

The SWISS Board of Directors yesterday approved a proposal to reorganise the company’s Sales & Marketing division and expand the present Management Board. Christoph Beckmann joins the Management Board and assumes overall charge of Marketing and Product Development alongside his current function as Head of Corporate Development. In his new capacity, Beckmann thus bears responsibility for all activities associated with SWISS’s positioning, brand and products.

SWISS’s worldwide sales organisation will be led directly by CEO Christoph Franz until the effects of the company’s link-up with Lufthansa are more clearly identified and appreciated. Oliver Evans, currently Chief Sales & Marketing Officer, has decided for personal reasons to focus his energies on the overall management of Swiss WorldCargo and its planned collaboration with Lufthansa Cargo. He will step down from the Management Board but, as Chief Cargo Officer, will continue to report directly to CEO Christoph Franz.

Change at the top at SWISS IT

Robert Bornträger, Executive Vice President Information Technology, will leave the company at the end of May to join Telekurs AG, where, as a member of executive management, he will be in overall charge of the company’s Telekurs Services division. His successor at SWISS IT will be appointed as soon as possible.

Regula Dettling-Ott to succeed Kurt Jäger

Kurt Jäger, Vice President Aeropolitical Affairs, will leave SWISS at the end of April at his own request to take on a new professional challenge. He will be succeeded by Regula Dettling-Ott, attorney-at-law and an experienced aviation specialist. She will assume her new duties, in which she will report directly to the CEO, on May 1.

The Board of Directors and the Management Board thank Robert Bornträger and Kurt Jäger for their many years of service and commitment, and wish them every continued success and satisfaction in their new professional challenges.
