ARTE to show documentary on working life aboard SWISS

11 October 2006

German and French-language arts channel ARTE will be presenting a one-hour documentary this Sunday (October 15) that offers an authentic picture of the daily working life of SWISS’s pilots and flight attendants. The film, entitled “Une vie dans le ciel” (“A life in the sky”), will be broadcast at 22:05.

Freelance documentary maker François Chilowicz accompanied various SWISS crews on six long-haul and short-haul rotations to make his film. The result is a documentary that gives a fascinating insight into the far-from-everyday working lives of SWISS cockpit and cabin crew staff.

The film, which was produced by Agat Films Paris for the ARTE channel, aims to familiarise viewers with the inflight life of flying personnel by offering powerful visual images of their daily working world. The result is an intimate portrait of these highly unusual professions that is achieved with virtually no commentary or narrative.
