SWISS to introduce new Geneva-Valencia service

9 November 2006

SWISS is further expanding its Geneva-based network: Valencia will receive three SWISS services a week from March 10. With the addition of the new route, SWISS will serve 22 destinations from Geneva either with its own flights or in collaboration with codeshare partners. Valencia will be the 70th destination in the SWISS route network.

SWISS will introduce scheduled services between Geneva and Valencia, Spain’s third-largest city, on March 10. A thrice-weekly service will initially be provided. With the start of the 2007 summer timetables, on March 25th, SWISS plans to add a fourth frequency. As host to the America’s Cup, the world’s most famous and prestigious yachting competition, Valencia will be a prime focus of the sports community next summer.

After extensive restructuring, SWISS is now generating black-ink results from its Geneva-based flight operations. SWISS and Lufthansa have now announced new services between Geneva and four destinations – Stuttgart, Hamburg, Prague and Valencia – over the past few weeks.

SWISS will offer service to 22 destinations from Geneva from mid-March onwards. Nine of these routes will be operated by SWISS itself, while 13 will be operated by airline partners under codeshare agreements.
