12 May 2009

The SWISS Board of Directors today appointed Holger Hätty as a member of the company’s Management Board and Chief Commercial Officer, with responsibility for all revenue, distribution, marketing and product management activities. Hätty, who is 50, comes to SWISS from Lufthansa Passenger Transportation, where he has been serving on the Executive Board in charge of strategy, alliances & holdings, network management, IT and purchasing since 2004. His assumption of his duties on 1 July will complete the SWISS Management Board, whose reduction from five to four members will simplify and streamline SWISS’s top-management structure.

The SWISS Board of Directors has appointed Holger Hätty as the company’s Chief Commercial Officer and a member of the Management Board. He will be responsible for all revenue, distribution, marketing and product management activities. His appointment sees the SWISS Management Board streamlined to four members, a resizing that will simplify the present structure. It also completes CEO-designate Harry Hohmeister’s top-management team.

“Holger Hätty has achieved sizeable successes in his various functions at Lufthansa and other companies,” says SWISS Chairman of the Board Rolf Jetzer. “He is also well known to our Board of Directors, thanks to the key role he played in SWISS’s successful integration into the Lufthansa Group. We are delighted to have secured his services as our new Chief Commercial Officer.”

Holger Hätty adds: “SWISS has regained its place as one of the leading airlines in the last few years, and has earned itself an excellent reputation throughout Switzerland and beyond. It will be my privilege and my duty to help SWISS continue along this path and shape its further business success.”
