Rolf Jetzer, SWISS Chairman of the Board of Directors, has died

Rolf Jetzer (59), Chairman of the Board of Directors of SWISS, suffered a heart failure and passed away entirely unexpectedly on Sunday evening whilst hiking in the mountains.

Rolf Jetzer is survived by his wife and son. SWISS wishes to extend its sincerest condolences to Rolf Jetzer’s family.

Rolf Jetzer joined the SWISS Board of Directors in 2004, and was elected Chairman in the autumn of 2005. During this time, he devoted unstinting energy and commitment to the airline’s positive development, playing a major role in shaping the company. The SWISS management and staff are indebted to him, and are deeply saddened.

Vice Chairman Walter Bosch will take over as Chairman of the SWISS Board of Directors on an ad interim basis.
