Head of Corporate Communications takes over Public and Environmental Affairs

21 December 2010

SWISS Head of Corporate Communications Jürg Dinner is to assume new duties as Head of Public & Environmental Affairs. He will take up his new position in May 2011.

SWISS is to further intensify its activities on the environmental and political fronts. In future, all political and ecological issues and concerns at the airline will be handled by a newly-created Public & Environmental Affairs unit. The new arrangement is intended to give greater strategic importance to SWISS’s activities in both fields, to help provide the parameters within which Switzerland’s national airline can continue to develop in response to demand. To this end, the new unit is to be headed by Jürg Dinner, who is currently Head of Corporate Communications. He will assume his new duties in May 2011.

In Jürg Dinner (44), SWISS is entrusting these key issues to an experienced communications specialist who is well familiar with the civil aviation sector. Dinner joined SWISS as its Head of Corporate Communications over six years ago under its then-CEO Christoph Franz; and, in a difficult business environment, he has been instrumental in ensuring that the company’s internal and external communications have helped effect its corporate turnaround and its successful integration into the Lufthansa Group.

Jürg Dinner’s assumption of this newly-created position also forms part of SWISS’s long-term management development activities. As Head of Public & Environmental Affairs he will report directly to Antonio Schulthess, Head of External Relations & IT. Jürg Dinner’s successor as Head of Corporate Communications will be appointed in the next few weeks.
