Avro

For short distances

Avro is a traditional British aviation company. SWISS uses the Avro RJ100 on short haul flights. It perfectly complements the aircraft types in the Airbus A320 family. From 2015, the Avro fleet will be replaced consecutively by the Bombardier 'C' series.

Avro RJ100

Code: AR1

With its four strong engines, the Avro RJ 100 is particularly suitable for airports with short runways. SWISS uses it e.g. on routes to and from London City. It has between 78 and 97 seats.

Special features

The Avro RJ100 owes its nickname "Jumbolino" to the wide cross section of its fuselage and the very roomy cabin. And because it is very quiet in flight, it is also called the "Whisperjet".
