Environmental aims

We are guided by the aims of the International Air Traffic Association (IATA). Airlines want to improve fuel efficiency by an average of 1.5 percent every year until 2020. From 2020, aviation CO2 is to grow neutrally, and by 2050 CO2 emissions are to be half what they were in 2005.

Measures

We observe a four-pillar strategy for reducing our CO2 emissions: technological progress (e.g. fleet renewals), operational measures (e.g. optimum refuelling), efficient infrastructures (e.g. standardised European air space) and economic instruments (e.g. voluntary CO2 compensation).
