Rainer Hiltebrand succeeded Gaudenz Ambühl as SWISS Chief Operating Officer at the beginning of May.

Gaudenz Ambühl handed over the position of SWISS Chief Operating Officer
to Rainer Hiltebrand at the beginning of May. SWISS is delighted that Gaudenz Ambühl will remain with the company for around a further year to support various projects. Ever since its foundation, throughout its turnaround and during its subsequent climb, SWISS has been able to count on Gaudenz Ambühl as
a universally-admired and highly professional executive who enjoys
the confidence and appreciation of the company’s cockpit crew, cabin staff and ground personnel.

Rainer Hiltebrand assumed his new position as SWISS Chief Operating Officer and a member of the Management Board at the beginning of May. He comes to SWISS from Flughafen Zürich AG (Zurich Airport’s operating company), where
he served as head of operations and a member of executive management.
As a former Swissair pilot, chief flying instructor, chief pilot and head of operations, he is already well familiar with the prime areas of his new responsibilities, and will be able to draw on long and extensive experience in his new capacity.
