SWISS to double service on its Athens-Geneva route

SWISS is to increase its services between Athens and Geneva. Switzerland’s airline will be adding a second daily flight to the route at the end of April 2011.

SWISS is to double its services on the Athens-Geneva route. From 29 April 2011, the airline will be offering two daily flights (instead of the present one) between the two cities. The new westbound service will depart from Athens at 07:30 and arrive in Geneva at 09:20. The new eastbound flight will leave Geneva at 19:45 and arrive in Athens at 23:25.

The two-flights-a-day service will substantially enhance travel options between the two cities for both business and leisure travellers. The new second daily flight will also be operated with Airbus A320 equipment, offering 150 seats in a two-class cabin configuration.

SWISS will serve eleven destinations non-stop with its own aircraft from Geneva in its 2010/11 winter schedules, which enter into effect on Sunday 31 October. A further seasonal destination will be served by Edelweiss Air; and another 16 destinations will be served non-stop under codeshare agreements with partner carriers, mainly fellow Star Alliance members.
