With the prices of crude oil and jet fuel having seen substantial further increases to new record levels over the past few weeks and months – crude oil and kerosene prices have risen more than 75% since the beginning of this year – SWISS is compelled to make further modest adjustments to its present fuel surcharges.
The SWISS fuel surcharge for long-haul flights will increase by CHF 12 to
CHF 134 per sector; and SWISS’s fuel surcharge for European flights (plus those to Cairo and Tel Aviv) will see a slight CHF 3 rise to CHF 34 per sector.
The new fuel surcharges will apply to all tickets for air travel originating in Switzerland which are issued from 27 October onwards. Tickets issued up to and including 26 October will be subject to the present surcharge provisions.
SWISS constantly monitors oil prices, and will continue to adjust its fuel surcharges in response to further fuel price trends on the commodities markets.
