What happens when there is a change to the flight schedule?
Am I entitled to compensation in the event of a flight delay?
Regulations regarding delays are covered under the Warsaw Convention. Under Article 19, the airline is obliged to provide compensation for damages resulting from a delay. However, the documents does not define the timeframe for delays. Not every delay is subject to this regulationi. Basically, the Warsaw Convention allows the airline to deny liability for delays if the airline is not at fault. This means that all possible measures to prevent the inconvenience were taken, and any delay that occurred was due to adherence to safety requirements or to unforeseen technical problems. The IATA conditions of carriage also release the airline from adhering to published scheduled times.
