What do I do if I realise after the flight that my luggage has been damaged?
Please report the damage immediately to the Lost & Found office at the arrival airport. In case you are unable to report the damage immediately, you have seven days to inform us in writing. After this period of seven days, the airline is no longer obliged to recognise the damage.
Please send the following documents, together with a description of the damage, either by e-mail, fax or post to the address at the bottom of the page:
Copy of the passenger ticket
Copy of the baggage receipt
Copy of the damage report (if already reported at the airport)
Original purchase receipt of the damaged luggage item; otherwise date, place and price of the purchase
Permanent address and telephone number
Your banking details, including clearing number
In the meantime, please bring the damaged item of luggage to a repair shop of your own choice to have it fixed. You can also send us the receipt for the repair costs to the address at the bottom of the page. In case the item of luggage is irreparable, may we kindly ask you to obtain a confirmation from the repair shop and send it to us. In this case, we will be paying compensation, within our legal limits of liability, for the respective piece of luggage.
For more information about our limits of liability, please consult our
conditions of carriage
.
May we remind you that SWISS is not liable for damages to luggage which result from normal handling such as scratches, slight tearing, spots, minor dents, loss of wheels etc.
Thank you for your understanding!
