At the airport
Back to HELP/FAQ
Why do I have to pay an additional tax at some airports?
How much time should I calculate for check-in?
Depending on airport and route, check-in may close from between 25 and 60 minutes before departure. This block of time is needed for aircraft handling, calculating weight, passenger numbers and fuel requirement. Once the aircraft has been closed for check-in it can not generally be re-opened to accept additional passengers. For intercontinental flights, this block of time may be extended to up 2-3 hours, depending on the political situation, eventual holiday periods and destination served. Please be aware of possible waiting times at passport and security checkpoints, check-in, lengthy distances between carpark and terminal or check-in and gate. Depending on the size of the airport, please allow yourself enough time for pre-flight procedures.
