General luggage guidelines
The price of your SWISS, Edelweiss Air and Lufthansa flights includes a specific luggage allowance. The free luggage allowance varies according to travel class, destination and your Miles & More status.  The free luggage allowance is stated on your flight ticket, or on your e-ticket confirmation document.

Luggage guidelines for SWISS Golf Travellers

1. Valid on European and all intercontinental flights, with the exception of flights to and from the USA and Canada and to various other countries where exceptions apply (weight concept):

In addition to the free luggage allowance, SWISS Golf Travellers also benefit from the free transportation of up to 15 kg of golfing gear on the entire SWISS, Edelweiss Air and Lufthansa flight network (flights operated by SWISS, Edelweiss Air and Lufthansa). However, passengers should note that only 1 piece of golfing gear per person can be checked in.  These luggage guidelines cannot be combined with status-related conditions concerning additional golfing gear.  The maximum weight of individual pieces of luggage is limited to 32 kg.

Example: as a SWISS Golf Traveller and Miles & More BASE member, you fly to Malaga in the SWISS economy class, with a golf bag weighing 16 kg.  In addition to your 20 kg luggage allowance, you can also check in 15 kg of golfing gear free of charge.  As your golf bag weighs 16 kg, your luggage allowance is reduced by 1 kg, e.g. you can still check in 19 kg of luggage at no extra charge.

2. Valid on SWISS and Lufthansa flights between the USA and Canada, and on outbound flights from South America (item concept):

SWISS Golf Travellers can check in their golfing gear as an extra piece of luggage, in addition to their Miles & More status / class-related existing free luggage allowance, for free transport on all SWISS and Lufthansa flights. However, passengers should note that only 1 piece of golfing gear per person can be checked in. It follows that these luggage guidelines cannot be combined with status-related conditions concerning additional golfing gear.  The weight of individual pieces of luggage is limited to 23 kg in the economy class, and to 32 kg in business and first class. 

Example: as a SWISS Golf Traveller and Miles & More BASE member, you fly to Miami in the SWISS business class.  In addition to 2 pieces of luggage weighing 32 kg, you can also check in a golf bag weighing a maximum of 32 kg at no extra charge.

When travelling, always show your personal SWISS Golf Traveller membership card or your Miles & More American Express Milemaker Golf credit card at the check-in. This is the only way we can guarantee that you receive free transport on flights operated by SWISS, Lufthansa and Edelweiss Air. Transportation costs for golfing gear arising as a result of your failure to show your SWISS Golf Traveller membership card cannot be reimbursed.
