SWISS Golf Traveller News  New partnership with Golf Import

Coinciding with the conclusion of the 2011 golf season we are pleased to inform you of a new partnership with Golf Import. Golf Import has been Switzerland’s biggest online shop for the past 15 years. Golf Import offers a comprehensive line of top brands and is renowned for its competent sales service and bargain prices, which are guaranteed to be 15 per cent below the recommended retail price.

Customer benefits:

- Home delivery within 1-5 days
- Bargain prices
- Competent sales and post-sales service in the event of any problem with the
product you purchase, even years later

The Golf Import staff team looks forward to serving you in person at the company’s sales locations (Dübendorf, Golfpark Otelfingen and Geneva), where they can offer you professional golf-related advice or provide you with an individualised fitting thanks to the modern indoor system complete with FlightScope analyser.

SWISS Golf Traveller is delighted to enter into this new partnership with Golf Import, which will benefit you as a member of SWISS Golf Traveller as follows:

Upon presentation of your personal SWISS Golf Traveller membership card you receive an additional discount of 3% on Golf Import’s permanently low net prices. With the net price at Golf Import already 15% below the recommended retail price, you then enjoy a reduction of 18% off the recommended retail price. For orders placed through the online golf shop you can indicate your membership in the field “remarks” for the shopping cart. Once your current SWISS Golf Traveller membership has been checked, the additional 3% discount is then provided.

In addition to this offer, you also continue to enjoy a 15% discount on all golf equipment when you present your SWISS Golf Traveller membership card at any one of 15 Athleticum sporting goods stores in Switzerland.

SWISS simplifies its baggage provisions

SWISS has standardised baggage regulations for its flights all over the world. SWISS is extending the “piece concept”, which already applies on North Atlantic flights, to the baggage provisions for all its services systemwide. The new regulations will apply to all tickets bought on or after 1 August 2011. For many customers travelling on SWISS services within Europe and on long-haul flights to Asia or Africa, the new concept will increase their free baggage allowance. SWISS’s carry-on baggage regulations remain unchanged.

The piece concept allows customers to check in a certain number of pieces of baggage free of charge, with the number of pieces permitted depending on their class of travel. SWISS is also modifying the maximum permissible weight of each individual piece. As a result, SWISS Economy travellers will now enjoy an extra three kilos of free-baggage allowance per flight. Business and First Class customers, too, will benefit from more generous free-baggage amounts than under the former “weight concept”.

The key changes are as follows:

- SWISS Economy: Now 1 piece of up to 23 kilos (previously in Europe, any number of pieces up to a combined total of 20 kilos; previously on intercontinental flights, 2 pieces weighing up to 23 kg).

- SWISS Business: Now 2 pieces of up to 32 kilos each, i.e. a maximum total of 64 kilos (previously any number of pieces up to a combined total of 30 kilos).

- SWISS First: Now 3 pieces of up to 32 kilos each, i.e. a maximum total of 96 kilos (previously any number of pieces up to a combined total of 40 kilos).

Miles & More members may also be entitled to higher free-baggage allowances than the above, depending on their programme status.

Detailed information about the piece concept is available here.

Remember to always present your personal SWISS Golf Traveller membership card or your Miles & More American Express Golf credit card when you check in for your flight. This is the only way that we can make sure that your golf bag weighing up to 23 kg is transported free of charge on flights operated by SWISS, Edelweiss Air or Lufthansa.

Baggage allowance benefits for members of SWISS Golf Traveller are valid only flights operated by SWISS, Edelweiss Air or Lufthansa. If you are not sure if your LX or LH-numbered flight is operated by SWISS, Edelweiss Air or Lufthansa, simply check with your booking. For online bookings regarding swiss.com or www.edelweissair.ch the information you can obtain by clicking on the flight number under the heading "Operating Airline". For online bookings made through www.lufthansa.ch you can find the information you need under "Airline". For flights not operated by SWISS, Edelweiss Air or Lufthansa we are unable to offer transport of your golf bag free of charge.
