As an intern  Interface studies - profession

Myriam Estoppey

Revenue Management

"Working for SWISS is a unique opportunity to become familiar with an extremely dynamic environment and discover new things every day. The tasks are both diverse and motivational. It’s important to be a team player in the field of Revenue Management, because the work involves collaborating intensively with other departments. My work also allows me to establish interesting contacts with various professionals from the tourist industry, both at SWISS itself and also at companies including Edelweiss Air and other tour operators."

Michel Lavater

Crew Licensing

"As a trainee, I gain interesting insights into the world of aviation. My principal duty is the administration of pilot qualifications, as my department is responsible for ensuring that the pilots’ many different qualifications are valid at all times, and that no one flies without an official permit. I am also allowed to process the Initial ATPL (Airline Transport Pilot Licence / highest pilot licence) applications and am responsible for the planning, organisation and administration of a diverse range of courses. In addition to the job itself, I very much enjoy the great working atmosphere at SWISS. You’re by no means just labelled a trainee, but really do feel part of the whole set-up."

Natalie Rothenberger

Chief Executive Officer Secretary

"My traineeship in the CEO and administration board office allows me to gain a broad overview of the various activities, as well as facilitate close contact with members of the management board and executives. I very much appreciate both the atmosphere of trust in which I work and the opportunity to work for a high-calibre company like SWISS on a daily basis. I would advise anyone on the search for a traineeship at SWISS to be honest and open. It should be obvious that you’re a fan of the company, and the interviewer should sense immediately that you really want to make a contribution. I have learned a great deal in the last four months and am aiming for a permanent job at SWISS in future."

Adrian Achermann

Teamleader Flight Crew Licensing

"I aim to help trainees gain an insight into both the aviation field and into the working world in general. I count on and expect autonomous, reliable and dedicated work in the process. We are responsible for the pilot qualification and training data, and part of the work comprises the independent administrative supervision of training courses. Each course which is successfully run and completed invariably gives participating trainees a sense of achievement. Trainees at SWISS are characterised by the ability to be themselves and meet others half way!"

Domenica Rosato

Head of Ground Product Development

"Trainees’ readiness to assume responsibility and work with independence and commitment ensures that they make an active contribution to the design of our ground product, also providing significant support in the execution of new product ideas. In addition to everyday administrative tasks, we offer trainees to assume and implement autonomous projects, in order to promote their conceptual skills and to help them put the theoretical know-how into practice. Furthermore, we give trainees an insight into our many interfaces. "Must-have" qualities include a flexible, open attitude and sufficient motivation to work well in a team."

Markus Loeffler

Swiss WorldCargo, Head of Quality & Services Assurance

"After an intensive training period, during which cross-corporate expertise is conveyed, the trainees are familiarised with the day-to-day working life of an airline. This necessitates their involvement in daily business, as they are gradually entrusted with larger tasks. It is not unusual for trainees with suitable skills to execute small to medium-sized projects. However, trainees are also a welcome addition to existing teams. They enhance task forces with their unbiased ideas. Former trainees are frequently employed at SWISS after completing their studies, with both sides benefiting from the experiences gained during the trainee period."

Every year, SWISS offers over 100 internships in the following divisions in Zurich, Basel and Geneva:
