We have been going to Amber every year for our anniversary dinner and in my opinion it still ranks the top.
It is unpretentious yet the food is exquisite. The crockery is simple and stunning.
Last night we had the 9 course degustation which was truly outstanding. My all time favorite is the sea urchin. So so good. Definitely choose the wagyu beef over the turbot. The beef is incredible. The Tasmanian cherries dessert was divine and they offer the most generous selection of petit fours.
If I was to be at all negative I would say that I found the scallop and foie gras dishes a little salty but my husband really enjoyed the saltiness. I also used to love the foie gras lollipops and would choose a row of them over the steamed foie gras.
An excellent restaurant for dinner. Quiet and perfect for a romantic special occasion.
This was our third visit to Amber.
It is a definite favourite.
The service is impeccable. The staff are warm, friendly and very knowledgeable about food and drink.
We had lunch at Amber on Wednesday 27th January. We had a choice of 3 different menus.We chose the 3 course fixed price lunch menu. The menu had an excellent selection for each of the 3 courses.
The food was superb!! It was elegant,very sophisticated and very flavoursome. A word of warning watch out for the bread as it is so good you will want more!
We look forward to our next trip to a Hong Kong and more particularly, to again visiting our favourite restuarant.
