On short and medium-haul routes, SWISS uses the various Airbus aircraft types A220, A320 and A321 to ensure safe and reliable flight operations.

Airbus A220-100
The Airbus A220-100 is an appealing choice with its high fuel efficiency and the exceptional travel comfort provided by a bright, generously designed cabin. In 2016, SWISS was the first airline in the world to start operating this aircraft type. The A220 is also one of the few aircraft that are approved for special approaches and departures, for example on the short runway at London City Airport.

Airbus A220-300
The Airbus A220-300 is an appealing choice with its high fuel efficiency and exceptional travel comfort provided by a bright, generously designed cabin. With 145 seats, the Airbus A220-300 is the larger of the two A220 types in the SWISS fleet. The A220 is also one of the few aircraft that are approved for special approaches and departures, for example on the short runway at London City Airport.

Airbus A320-200ceo/Airbus A320neo
The Airbus A320 is second-largest aircraft in the SWISS short-haul fleet. The current A320ceo aircraft are gradually being replaced by the modern A320neo (“new engine option”). Both models each offer space for 180 guests. Along with technical improvements and a redesign of the cabin, the new engines ensure significant fuel savings. In addition, an A320neo taking off generates around 50% less noise emissions than comparable aircraft types.

Airbus A321-111ceo/Airbus A321neo
The Airbus A321 is SWISS's largest short-haul aircraft, with 219 (A321ceo) or 215 seats (A321neo). The current A321ceo aircraft are gradually being replaced by the modern A321neo (“new engine option”). Along with technical improvements and a redesign of the cabin, their new engines ensure significant fuel savings. In addition, an A321neo taking off generates around 50 % less noise emissions than comparable aircraft types.
