Those who fly SWISS become Switzerland fans at heart

Hospitality is a superpower that not only makes guests happy, but also our national team on the pitch. This summer, SWISS is once again supporting the Swiss women’s football team as the official airline.

How guests become fans

SWISS is proudly committed to Swiss sport: As a travel partner, it accompanies Switzerland’s national teams and top talents to their greatest heights. SWISS also flies the national football teams to their matches abroad – and the fans who create the atmosphere in the stadium.

This summer we find ourselves in a special situation, because our female footballers are giving it their all here in Switzerland and don’t need to fly abroad. But SWISS can still actively support the players.

Packing like our football heroes

In SWISS Magazine, players from the Swiss women’s national team share a behind-the-scenes look at how they’re preparing for the football championship at home. In the series "Packing like our football heroes", they reveal what absolutely has to make it into their tournament suitcase, the personal items they never travel without, and how they stay comfortable on the road. They also open up about their packing habits, travel experiences, and the emotional milestones that have shaped their careers.

Part 1 – with Noemi Ivelj

Getting into football came naturally to Noemi - and very early on. She often accompanied her father at weekends to watch his matches. This is how Noemi's passion was born: "I knew football would play an important role in my life." Today, the 18-year-old midfielder and defender for the national team is one of the biggest talents in women's football in Switzerland.

Part 2 – with Elvira Herzog and Patricia Gsell

In the second edition of our portrait series, we talk with goalkeeper Elvira Herzog and goalkeeper coach Patricia Gsell. Elvira’s journey between the posts began at the age of twelve. Today, the 25-year-old plays in goal for both RB Leipzig in the German Bundesliga and the Nati. Patricia Gsell, 35 years old, has been the Swiss Football Association’s first professional goalkeeper coach since April 2022. Her passion for football also started in childhood and has remained strong ever since.

Part 3 – with Alayah Pilgrim

In the third and final part of our portrait series, we focus on Alayah Pilgrim. The 22-year-old attacker with Moroccan roots stands for speed, creativity and goal threat. She has also played for AS Roma since the start of 2024. Despite her young age, Alayah is already an important pillar of the national team. Away from football, she is also digitally active on social media and impressively demonstrates how she combines sport and personality.
