Do you have a professional/school leaving certificate or Swiss Federal Certificate of Proficiency (EFZ) and want to make a start to your career? Then explore the exciting world of aviation for up to one year. At SWISS you have the opportunity to do an internship that will not only prepare you for a BA in Aviation at Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW), but will also give you some valuable experience in different company divisions. Sound exciting? It certainly is.
Your internship at SWISS
Whether in Zurich or Basel – at SWISS you can dip your toes into the different departments and pitch in properly. You’ll be part of a team and collaborate on some exciting projects. Depending on the department, you’ll organise events, produce newsletters, analyse data or take care of our customers. And the best thing about it? You’ll learn something new every day and gain experience that will really help you get along in your career.
Duration of internship: 12 months
Monthly salary: CHF 1,700 (with a 100% workload)
Working time: 40% to 100%, by agreement

Your requirements
- You are interested in the captivating world of aviation and want to know how it works behind the scenes at SWISS
- You have completed your vocational baccalaureate or a federal vocational certificate (EFZ) apprenticeship
- You speak good German and English; French is a plus
- MS Office? Not a problem. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc. – you’ve got all that under your belt.
- You like working in a team and can express yourself well
- You want to learn new things and are motivated to get involved
A student internship at SWISS is also the ideal preparation for the Aviation degree course at the Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW), as you need a one-year full-time internship before the start of the course.

Duration of internship: 3 to 12 months, flexible start date possible
Monthly salary for bachelor’s degree students or graduates: CHF 2,500 (for 100% workload)
Monthly salary for master’s degree students or graduates: CHF 3,000 (for 100% workload)
Working hours: 40% to 100%, depending on agreement

ProTeam SWISS - The trainee programme for Masters graduates
Are you approaching the end of your master’s degree course, and does aviation get your pulse racing?
Are you creative, passionate and bold when it comes to taking things on and seeing them through? Would you like to make a difference in our company and actively help shape the future of both SWISS and the entire Lufthansa Group?
If so, immerse yourself in the lively world of aviation and use our inspiring and exciting ProTeam trainee programme as your personal springboard into a specialist or management career in the airline industry.
What you can experience
Over the course of 18 months you will get to know SWISS and certain divisions of the Lufthansa Group on four project assignments both in Switzerland and abroad. The trainee programme offers:

Your qualification
- Very good Master's Degree from a university or university of applied sciences
- Basic understanding of economic contexts and strong interest in aviation
- Experience in dealing with different cultures gained through experience abroad, e.g. a term of study or internship abroad
- High level of personal initiative and independent action
- Quick grasp for training in changing areas of responsibility, curiosity about the unknown and unfamiliar, and the ability to break through established patterns of thought and develop innovative solutions
- Thinking and acting as an entrepreneur and excellent analytical thinking
- Ability to communicate and present subjects to specific target groups
- Fluent in English and German, knowledge of other languages would be a plus
- Some initial professional experience would be a plus
Your springboard: an internship at SWISS

Your summer internship at SWISS
Our summer internships give you the chance to work in an international environment, gain valuable experience in responsible positions and get to know different divisions at SWISS. This will enable us to identify and promote talents like you who are enthusiastic about aviation. You’ll take an active role in project work and be involved in the everyday business from the start, as well as take on some important responsibilities and commit fully to your team. This will give you some valuable insights and practical knowledge for the next stage of your career.
Duration: 3 months
Start: June to August or by agreement
Level of employment: 80% to 100%, by agreement
Monthly salary for higher technical college (HF) students / bachelor’s degree students or graduates: CHF 2,500 HF (with a 100% workload)
Monthly salary for master’s degree students or graduates: CHF 3,000 (with a 100% workload)

This internship will give you the opportunity to use your professional experience in a new field and take on responsibilities from the start. Your diverse background will enable you to make an active contribution to the further development of our company and become part of some exciting projects and everyday operations. Your knowledge and perspective are welcome with us. We also offer you a platform where you can develop yourself further and carry SWISS forward together with us.
Duration: 3 to 12 months
Level of employment: 40% to 100%, by agreement

During your internship you will be involved in project work and assist us in our everyday business. Your experience and ideas will bring a breath of fresh air to our teams and constantly help us to explore new approaches.
