Compartment change into Business Class

Business Class

SWISS now allows compartment changes from Economy Class to Business Class.Effective as from 3 December 2015, compartment changes are allowed from every rebookable fare option.
Hence only the “Light Fare” cannot be changed into a Business Class fare.

Here is an overview of the respective details:

Compartment changes are only possible to the booking classes C and J.
The price of a compartment change depends on the route and booking class and may vary accordingly.
Conditions of rebooking and baggage allowance apply according to Business Class. In case of a refund, the non-refundable amount of the original fare remains non-refundable (e.g. Classic fare option).
Due to the adaption of fare notes, the compartment change can be made with automated rebooking-tools in GDS such as Amadeus ATC.
Prime-, Status-, Select-, and HON-Circle miles will be accredited according to the Business Class booking class.
The compartment change is especially interesting in the case of a rebooking. If Economy Class is not available anymore, passengers can change into Business Class if there are still seats available.
The LX “equal or higher” logic remains.
