Animals

General information
With SWISS you can take your pet along on any route, either next to you in the cabin or in the aircraft’s cargo hold under cabin-like conditions. Although animals taken into the cabin are considered hand baggage, you will still be charged a fee for their transportation, regardless of how much other baggage you take with you. Animal transport by air is subject to laws and regulations that vary substantially from country to country. Please present all the original documents required for the transport (import, export and transit papers, and health and vaccination certificates) and book the transport of your pet with SWISS in advance. If the animal has not had the vaccinations required, then the owner will be responsible for the return flights of both the animal and themselves.

- The pet and pet pack together must not weigh more than 8 kilos.
- Your pet must be clean and healthy, not be dangerous, not smell, not be pregnant and not be a nuisance to other passengers.

Unaccompanied Minors (UMNR)
Children travelling without a companion are known as "unaccompanied minors" (UMs), and we offer them special assistance at the airport and on board to ensure that your child arrives safely at their destination even when travelling alone. Married segments / origin & destination (O&D)

General information
"Married segments" are flights that have to stay together in order to reach the fare break point. If you have to issue two different tickets, two bookings must be created.

Example:
Original routing: PAR – ZRH – NYC
New routing: ZRH – NYC

Cancellation of only the PAR-ZRH flight is not permitted. You must cancel both the PAR-ZRH and the ZRH-NYC flights and apply a new availability from ZRH to NYC.

A revenue management system is in place at SWISS which treats multiple flight segments as a single unit. This is to maintain efficient seat distribution. Availability here is based on the origin and destination of the itinerary as well as on the point of sale (POS) and other indicators. Flights must be selected from origin to destination. Adding/deleting single flight segments is not permitted. You may encounter different availabilities when checking for space for single flight segments versus an entire leg. The same situation may occur when checking the availability within or outside an existing booking. Please note that creating two bookings to bypass the “origin & destination” logic is not permitted.
