Algiers and Dublin as new destinations from Geneva

Two new annual destinations will complete the SWISS offer from Geneva in 2015: Dublin and Algiers. By integrating two high-potential cities in its route portfolio, SWISS is actively pursuing the development of its base in French-speaking Switzerland and now offers non-stop service to 42 destinations from Geneva Airport.

June 26, SWISS will inaugurate the Geneva-Dublin line, with four weekly frequencies. The famous Irish city is mostly appreciated by leisure customers interested in its rich culture, traditions and nightlife.

SWISS will also offer a new frequency to Algiers. The Algerian capital will be connected to Geneva three times a week.

The new flights can be booked with immediate effect.

Policy for handling of long-term schedule changes

Effective 16 March 2015 SWISS will implement a ticketing handling policy allowing travel agents to re-issue their LX/724 documents in connection with a SWISS flight schedule change under specific conditions.

This policy is in accordance with IATA Recommended Practice RP1735g for such cases and applies to all IATA agents on a worldwide basis.

SWISS defines the conditions applying to the handling of long-term schedule changes by the travel agencies. Non-compliance to the rules entitles the airline to raise an ADM.

This policy only covers LX/724 tickets and schedule changes affecting SWISS flight numbers operated by SWISS (or on behalf of SWISS) and SWISS flight numbers operated by Edelweiss. Excluded from the policy are SWISS flight numbers operated by other airlines (codeshare flights) and other airlines’ documents.

In case of special incidents such as strike, weather conditions, airport closure or similar, additional rules might be published by SWISS and communicated separately.

SWISS appreciates the support from travel agents to adapt tickets after a schedule change. However there is no obligation for our business partners to do so. In case of doubt about the handling of a schedule change/flight cancellation or in case the travel agency prefers that SWISS handle the case, the local SWISS representation may be contacted at any time.

In case of questions please contact your SWISS representation.
