International surcharge

SWISS to modify its international surcharges

The Lufthansa Group is harmonizing the international surcharges on all its member carriers’ flights. In line with this, the international surcharges on SWISS services will be raised by between CHF 16 and CHF 162 per ticket.

In a further development, Africa and North America will in future form two separate zones which will be subject to different international surcharges. SWISS will be deducting all net levels to keep the end-prices stable, except for flights to North America.

The increased international surcharges will apply to all tickets originating in Switzerland which are issued from 1 April 2014 onwards. Tickets issued up to and including 31 March 2014 will be subject to the present surcharge provisions.

We will also be changing the international surcharge logic in group bookings to “YQ at time of booking”. This allows us to confirm the surcharge amount at the time of booking. Please note that this will be done from 1 April 2014.

Booking information

Change of refund and rebooking logic as of beginning April 2014

Refund logic

With the adjustment of the fare designation (Fare Basis Codes) for all published fares worldwide within Lufthansa Group, SWISS will move its refund logic to the pricing unit logic, the same as is already in effect for AJV and J+ fare structure today. This means that the most restrictive refund conditions will apply for the entire pricing unit.

Rebooking logic IATA Reso 049x

Changes before departure on other than 1st flight coupon can be changed at historical fares. An actual fare quote is therefore no longer necessary.. This rule is already in effect for our AJV Fare
structure today and will in future be valid for all the fare structures, except J+ westbound.
Note: Advance purchase period must still be checked in above situation.
