SWISS is proud to be the Official Airline and partner of the Ski World Cup’s longest downhill race
As Switzerland’s national airline, SWISS is particularly proud to be supporting the international Lauberhorn races as a partner again next year.
The traditional event in Wengen is one of Switzerland's top events, and this 86th racing event will take place between 15 and 17 January. With an approximate length of 4.5 km and race time of 2½ minutes, the Lauberhorn is one of the longest downhill runs in the Ski World Cup.
Last year was the first time that SWISS was represented with an exclusive SWISS Lounge. Guests not only got a close-up view of the famous skiers arriving at the finish line, but they also got treated to a range of delicious culinary delicacies. Undoubtedly one of the greatest highlights was the impressive air show with Airbus A320 and the aerobatic flight team Patrouille SWISS. In 2016 too, SWISS plans to underline its bonds to the traditional winter sport event with a joint air display of an Airbus A321 with the national aerobatics squadron. In addition, SWISS will name the aircraft “Wengen”, emphasising the importance of Switzerland’s biggest ski event. Have a look at our short behind-the-scenes film of this spectacular event.
New Fare Structure Europe
Compartment change into Business Class
SWISS now allows compartment changes from Economy Class to Business Class.Effective as from 3 December 2015, compartment changes are allowed from every rebookable fare option.Hence only the “Light Fare” cannot be changed into a Business Class fare.
Here is an overview of the respective details: •Compartment changes are only possible to the booking classes C and J. •The price of a compartment change depends on the route and booking class and may vary accordingly. •Conditions of rebooking and baggage allowance apply according to Business Class. In case of a refund, the non-refundable amount of the original fare remains non-refundable (e.g. Classic fare option). •Due to the adaption of fare notes, the compartment change can be made with automated rebooking-tools in GDS such as Amadeus ATC. •Prime-, Status-, Select-, and HON-Circle miles will be accredited according to the Business Class booking class. •The compartment change is especially interesting in the case of a rebooking. If Economy Class is not available anymore, passengers can change into Business Class if there are still seats available. •The LX “equal or higher” logic remains.
