SWISS’s new fare options for European air travel became available today. The options form part of a totally new fare concept for all the airline’s services within Europe that offers customers even greater choice and flexibility. The new concept features three Economy Class options alongside the Business Class fare. So travellers can choose the fare that meets their specific needs and pay only for the services they actually require.

SWISS customers booking their air travel within Europe now enjoy even greater flexibility in selecting the fare (and the corresponding package of services) that best meets their specific travel needs. Be it for a weekend city break or a longer business trip, the traveller can now choose from three fare options in Economy Class and the Business Class fare.
All four fares include the flight, one piece of carry-on baggage, an inflight snack and drinks, a firm seat assignment when checking in within 23 hours of departure and Miles & More award and status miles. All SWISS travellers will also continue to enjoy the airline’s reputed inflight service featuring Swiss regional products. All the fares and the services they include are clear and consistent, are bookable down to the last available seat in the seating class concerned, and are available in any outward-and-return-travel combination.
The new Economy Light fare is the low-price option for customers who will be travelling with hand baggage only and do not need any ticketing flexibility. For an additional fee, Economy Light customers can also add a piece of registered baggage (from CHF 19) and/or a seat reservation (from CHF 12) to their booking. Economy Light is available for as little as CHF 99 round-trip from Zurich or CHF 79 round-trip from Geneva.
The Economy Classic fare entitles the customer to all the services they have previously enjoyed with a SWISS Economy ticket, such as one piece of registered baggage and a firm seat assignment. Economy Classic is available to any European destination for a supplement of CHF 25 (one-way) or CHF 50 (round-trip) on the Economy Light fare.
The new Economy Flex fare is aimed primarily at customers such as business travellers who need total flexibility in their travel plans and are seeking a more comprehensive range of included services, too. Economy Flex enables the holder to select their seat in advance in the “preferred” seating zone at the front of Economy Class, and also to rebook at no extra charge. The price difference compared to Economy Classic varies from route to route between CHF 30 and CHF 100 one-way. Economy Flex is available from CHF 209 round-trip from Zurich and from CHF 189 round-trip from Geneva.
In addition to its three Economy Class fares, SWISS continues to offer its Business Class fare, which entitles the traveller to all the customary premium services and amenities such as use of the airport lounges, a higher checked baggage allowance, seat reservation, a vacant adjacent seat and priority boarding. The many benefits of Business Class now also extend to total rebooking flexibility and full refundability. Business Class is SWISS’s top European travel product, and is particularly suited to those flying on business and discerning leisure travellers.
SWISS is adopting its new fare concept for Europe in collaboration with Lufthansa and Austrian Airlines, to offer customers greater consistency within the Lufthansa Group when they come to book their flights. Lufthansa and Austrian Airlines will be introducing their new European fare options later this summer.
