SWISS broadens fare concept for European flights

From 13 August 2014 SWISS will apply the price concept that it introduced at the end of June for flights from Zurich to include flights from Basel, too. By doing so, SWISS is responding to the changing needs of customers.

As of 13 August 2014 SWISS customers will be able to take advantage of attractively priced offers without the restriction of a minimum-stay requirement for additional flights from Zurich and, for the first time, Basel, too. One-way fares start from as low as CHF 79 (Economy Class) and CHF 109 (Business Class). Round-trip Business Class fares for passengers flying from either Zurich or Basel are available from as low as CHF 199.

The new SWISS price concept is a response to profound changes across Europe’s air travel landscape. "The early indications are positive. With this new concept SWISS appears to be responding more effectively to the needs of individual customers," comments Dieter Vranckx, the airline’s Head of Sales & Marketing for Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

In addition to improved fares and conditions, customers can now also choose from a broader selection of offers and services which are available for purchase separately, depending on their individual requirements. Aside from reserving a preferred seat in advance, they can also place an order through to arrange a special inflight surprise such as a bottle of champagne or wine.
