SWISS relaunches its popular Seats for Switzerland campaign

SWISS has relaunched its ‘Seats for Switzerland’ campaign to reunite family and friends. Originally initiated in September 2013, ‘Seats for Switzerland’ invites Swiss residents to win SWISS tickets to meet up again with faraway family or friends by submitting a story about why they would like to do so. Having proved immensely popular first time around, the campaign is now being resumed – this time with the addition of a mobile film studio that is touring the country.

As The Airline of Switzerland, SWISS is resuming its popular ‘Seats for Switzerland’ campaign, offering another 300 free tickets to enable the people of its home country to meet up again with family or friends far away. To win up to four of these tickets, participants are asked to submit a story about why they would like to do so. The most touching, emotional and exciting entries will win. ‘Seats for Switzerland’ is a thank-you from SWISS to the Swiss people for all their loyalty and support.

‘Tour de SWISS’

‘Seats for Switzerland’ is open to any Swiss residents who would like to meet up again with family or friends – relatives, schoolmates, young loves and more – who have moved away from the country. Each participant can apply for up to four free SWISS tickets. To win them, participants should submit their story about why they would like to be reunited with a particular person to the website.

For this latest ‘Seats for Switzerland’, SWISS is also touring the country with a mobile film studio. The studio will be stopping at 15 locations nationwide to enable people to record their ‘Seats for Switzerland’ story live onto video. “We’re The Airline of Switzerland,” explains SWISS Head of Marketing Bernhard Christen, “and being close to its population is hugely important to us. ‘Seats for Switzerland’ gives us the chance to give something back to the Swiss people.”

All the stories submitted until 17 November will be assessed by a judging panel to find those with the best and most moving reasons for the reunions desired. This year’s panel consists of Swiss novelist Joël Dicker, SWISS Chief Commercial Officer Markus Binkert and Maître de Cabine Anja Gilgen. Three winning stories will also be selected via social media voting among the online community. Full details of the ‘Seats for Switzerland’ campaign, including its mobile film studio tour itinerary, are available on

Reunions to be filmed, too

The submitters of the six best ‘Seats for Switzerland’ stories will also have a film team on hand to document their reunions. The resulting short films will be viewable from 22 December onwards on, on YouTube, on TV and in selected cinemas.
