SWISS to take over Styrian Spirit flights

24 March 2006

SWISS will be operating its own services on the Zurich-Graz and Zurich-Krakow routes from tomorrow onwards. The flights were previously performed by Styrian Spirit under a codeshare agreement. With the Austrian-based carrier having suddenly ceased operations, SWISS will now operate these services itself, initially until the end of March.

SWISS previously maintained a codeshare agreement with Styrian Spirit (airline code Z2) covering services between Zurich and Graz, Krakow and Salzburg. With Styrian Spirit having ceased operations until further notice, SWISS is now taking over the flights concerned on the Graz and Krakow routes, so that its customers can continue to enjoy direct service between Zurich and these cities.

Graz will be served from Zurich three times a day using Embraer RJ145 aircraft, while Krakow will receive one daily service. Departure and arrival times remain virtually unchanged. Customers holding tickets for the Zurich-Salzburg route will be rebooked onto other carriers.

SWISS will initially take over these services until the end of March. Whether they will continue to be offered from April onwards remains to be decided.
