SWISS and Alinghi set course together

As “Official Airline of Alinghi” SWISS will transport the successful Swiss sailing team to the 32nd America’s Cup. SWISS has concluded a promising collaboration agreement with the event’s defending champion and looks forward to transporting the team to the America’s Cup competition. In addition, SWISS will be transporting the team both to and from their training base in Dubai.

SWISS and Alinghi both carry Switzerland’s name and reputation out around the world. And the partners are now teaming up to serve as Swiss ambassadors abroad. “As a Swiss sports team, we are proud to fly our national airline to our training and our race events,” says Jochen Schümann, one of Alinghi's helmsmen and sports director. “We enjoy the Swiss hospitality on board SWISS.”

SWISS launched its new collaboration on November 15 by flying the Alinghi team to their Dubai training base for the 2006-07 winter season. With daily SWISS service to and from the United Arab Emirates, the team can enjoy comfortable and convenient connections to their training base as they prepare for next year’s America’s Cup.

Valencia joins the SWISS network SWISS will also be offering attractive new services to and from Valencia, the venue for next year’s America’s Cup, from March 10, 2007 onwards. A thrice-weekly service will initially be offered to and from Geneva, rising to four weekly frequencies with the introduction of the summer schedules on March 25. Valencia will be the 70th destination in the SWISS route network.
