SWISS to adjust its fuel surcharges for intercontinental and European flights

25 September 2007

With crude oil and aviation fuel prices having seen further substantial increases to new record highs over the past few weeks, SWISS is to adjust its fuel surcharges for both its intercontinental flights and services on its European route network.

On long-haul routes, SWISS is raising its fuel surcharge CHF 12 to CHF 134 per sector. For European flights, the fuel surcharge will rise CHF 2 from CHF 32 to CHF 34 per sector. Domestic flights remain unchanged.

The new fuel surcharges will apply to tickets for all journeys originating in Switzerland which are issued on or after October 1. Tickets issued on or before September 30 will be subject to the fuel surcharges which are currently in effect.

SWISS constantly monitors oil prices, and will make any further adjustments to its fuel surcharges contingent on future price trends on the commodities markets.
