ANA with new codeshares in Europe
Japanese airline expanding its network on the European continent / Improved connectivity for travelers.
ANA, member of the Star Alliance and Japan's biggest airline, is furthering its commitment in Europe. With the launch of its winter schedule, since 25 October the 5-star airline has been the only Japanese airline to offer a direct flight between Brussels and Tokyo/Narita. The carrier appreciates its cooperation with the Star Alliance member Brussels Airlines.
The introduction of the new codeshares is intended to further strengthen familiarity with the Japanese airline on the European continent. Along with Frankfurt, Düsseldorf, Munich, Paris and London, ANA is adding Brussels to its route network as its sixth destination in Europe.
By the end of this year, ANA will be starting a codeshare agreement with Germanwings and Eurowings on European routes from and to Düsseldorf, one of ANA's three hubs in Germany. Improved connectivity will provide the Japanese airline's customers with far more flexibility when planning their travels.
Electronic Travel Authorization – flights to Canada
The Canadian government has recently introduced a new entry requirement, the Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA).
From 1 March 2015, any foreign nationals (including Swiss citizens) travelling to or through Canada who do not require a visa will require an eTA. This ruling does not apply to US citizens or passengers travelling with a valid visa for Canada.
You can find out on the Electronic Travel Authorization page of the Canadian government's website whether nationals of your country require an eTA.
You will need your passport, a credit card and an email address to apply for an eTA. An eTA costs CAD7 and is valid for a maximum of 5 years or until your passport expires, depending on which occurs first.
This does not affect the entry requirements for passengers travelling by land or sea.

Both connections are subject to approval by local authorities. United Airlines plans to use the Boeing 787 ("Dreamliner"), one of the world's most modern passenger jets, for these new connections.
The non-stop flight with United from "SFO" to New Zealand from 1 July 2016 will initially be operated three times a week on a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner. The further developed Boeing 787-9 will then be used as the service is expanded from 28 October 2016 for the high season in winter.

Atlantic Gateway assumes majority share in TAP Portugal
With the Brazilian/Portuguese consortium's acquisition of 61 percent of the shares, the privatisation of the Portuguese airline is perfect.
The decision taken by the Portuguese government on 11 June of this year was completed last Friday: in line with the privatisation, the Brazilian-Portuguese consortium
Atlantic Gateway has acquired 61 percent of the shares in the former state airline TAP Portugal.
The Atlantic Gateway joint venture is managed by David Neelemann, the American-Brazilian founder and CEO of the airlines Azul, Westjet Airlines and JetBlue, and Humberto Pedrosa, the Portuguese owner of the Barraqueiro Group.
A number of rules were agreed in the privatisation, which is a milestone in the more than 70-year history of TAP Portugal:• The company will remain committed to serving the public in the future.
• The identity and independence of the TAP Group will be preserved.
• The TAP Portugal brand and its close links to Portugal will also be preserved.
• The company will remain based in Portugal.
• The Lisbon hub will be preserved and developed.
• The company will continue to contribute to the development of the Portuguese economy in the future.
• The company will preserve current jobs and create additional ones if at all possible. The Atlantic Gateway consortium considers the recapitalisation of TAP Portugal and the solving of any problems that could endanger the company's survival among its most urgent tasks.
The new shareholders consider the Lisbon hub, which provides easy access to many destinations in Europe, Africa, Brazil and North America, its most important asset. The airline is to develop and strengthen its presence on the market with first-class service and attractive prices. In the short- and medium-term, they want to offer new destinations in Brazil and North America and rejuvenate the fleet with the acquisition of new aircraft.
