Three new SWISS Lounges in Dock E
Just in time for the launch of the new Boeing 777-300ER, SWISS is presenting its new Lounge concept on Dock E at the hub in Zurich – which covers an area of an impressive 3300 m².
Once passengers have cleared security and arrived at Dock E, they can sit back and relax close to the departure gate for their long-haul flight and enjoy all the benefits of the SWISS Lounges.
Business and Senator Lounges: places to relax
The SWISS Business and Senator Lounges benefit from a unique zone concept that is designed perfectly to suit our passengers' requirements. Large open areas are ideal for relaxing in, while the work zone offers a number of single closed working areas. Those who prefer a slower approach will appreciate our specially developed relax loungers in the quiet zones. Chefs in the Front Cooking Zone prepare selected dishes fresh while the passengers wait and watch. The Senator Lounge also has an exclusive Whisky Bar with over 120 different varieties.
SWISS First Lounge: everything a heart could desire
The new SWISS First Lounge leaves nothing to be desired. We offer our guests the following areas: mini suites with 4-6 seats; a 5-star restaurant; an American Diner; a VIP Room that can also be used as a conference room; two en-suite hotel rooms and showers. And we also provide some fine wines: there are over 1000 bottles in our wine cooling cabinet.
Flying. Thinking ahead: the new e-journals on Lufthansa flights
Thanks to the comprehensive range of e-journals, Lufthansa passengers have permanent access to their favourite reading matter. They can choose from a wide range of newspapers and magazines in various languages and genres.
Travellers simply load their choice onto their smartphone, tablet or laptop to have their reading matter with them in a really practical space-saving format, before, during and after the flight.
The number of titles that a passenger may download on a flight depends on the travel class booked. However, additional titles may be obtained at any time for a small charge.
The available titles can all be found on LH.com/eJournals and downloaded onto your personal mobile device by entering the booking code before the flight. Print newspapers and magazines are also available at Berlin, Düsseldorf, Hamburg, Stuttgart, Frankfurt and Munich airports and in the First and Business Class Lounges.

ANA introducing new route between Tokyo and Phnom Penh, Cambodia
ANA is continuing to expand on international routes, and this year is adding Phnom Penh to its route network.
After Wuhan, the Chinese city of millions, the capital of Cambodia is this year's second new Asian destination. Both connections take off from Tokyo/Narita international airport, Wuhan from 28 April and Phnom Penh from 1 September 2016. Thus the Japanese market leader now offers flight connections to eight countries in the particularly fast-growing ASEAN region (Association of Southeast Nations). The new ANA connection between Tokyo and Phnom Penh is the only direct flight currently available between Japan and Cambodia.
Last year the airline added new flight connections to Houston in Texas, Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia, to Brussels and Sydney, continuing its consistent growth strategy from the world's biggest metropolitan region Tokyo and its two airports. Connections via Tokyo/Narita are being developed for the growing aviation market between the USA and the Asian metropolises. With its second hub at Tokyo/Haneda, the airline is continuing its strategy of strengthening the connection of its international routes with the dense domestic network.

New premium seats for short- and medium-haul jets
United Airlines is introducing comfortable new seats in the First Class cabins on short- and medium-haul jets.
The airline invited a number of passengers to test the new seats so their feedback could be included in the development. This enabled the design company PriestmanGoode to include functions and elements that will help to make the time passengers spend on board even pleasanter. They include:
• leather seat covers in the colours marine blue and Champagne,
• a patented fold-down table with an integrated tablet PC holder that enables the passenger to enjoy food and drinks while using a PC,
• an adjustable seat for added comfort, especially when leaning back, and adjustable headrests,
• seat sockets so passengers can charge their electrical devices,
• additional storage space by the seat with two pockets on the backrests and storage at the side for laptop and tablet,
• special drinks holders.
With a width of 53 cm (211") the new United First seat is wider than the current seats and has a large number of design elements, including a United label.
All-new TAP Portugal
Airline forming "TAP Express" and buying new aircraft
Following its partial privatisation in the autumn, TAP Portugal will be presenting its new look over the coming weeks. The first optimisation of the summer timetable is now followed by the launch of the new subsidiary "TAP Express", a rejuvenation of the fleet, and fine adjustment of the global route network.
The new company replaces the brand Portugália (PGA), which previously offered regional connections. However, the name is not the only thing that is changing. By July, TAP Express will receive eight type ATR 72 aircraft and nine Embraer 190. The new fleet increases seating capacity by 47 percent, and reduces fuel consumption by 40 percent at the same time. The procurement costs for the new aircraft are €400 million.
The renewal of the fleet makes TAP Express the most efficient regional airline in Europe. The average age of the aircraft will be two years (as opposed to an average of 21 years at PGA).
The ATR72 is currently one of the quietest and most economical aircraft on the market. It can accommodate up to 80 passengers. Passengers often rate the Embraer 190 with up to 110 seats as the most comfortable aircraft in this size class.
The very quick delivery of the ATRs and Embraer aircraft was only possible as the result of the new co-operation between TAP Portugal and AZUL Linhas Aéreas Brasileiras – the Brazilian airline has the world's largest fleet of aircraft by these two manufacturers, and so was able to bring its strong negotiating position into the matter.
