    • Gramercy Park Hotel

      Boutique hotel
The Gramercy Park Hotel, opened in 1925, was completely renovated in 2006 by hotelier Ian Schrager and filmmaker Julian Schnabel, whereupon it immediately redefined the standards for boutique hotels: an opulent but not flamboyant interior and a unique collection of contemporary art worth 42 million dollars. But sleeping next to a Warhol original isn’t the only reason to stay at the Gramercy. You also gain access to the only private park in the city, Gramercy Park.

    • Hotel The Standard

      Spectacular view
There’s no doubt that André Balaz’s hotel is an attraction in its own right. The «Observer» called it the most unusual building erected in New York in many years. The design concept behind the rooms is Nordic chic. The view of the Hudson River at sunset through the floor-to-ceiling windows is jaw-dropping. Evenings find guests gathering at the penthouse discothèque, Le Bain, and the Top of the Standard Bar on the rooftop.

    • Mandarin Oriental Hotel NYC

It only takes 30 seconds for the express lift to reach the 35th floor hotel in the Time Warner Building. And when the lift doors open into the lobby, you’ll be overwhelmed: floor-to-ceiling windows with a view over the New York skyline and Central Park. The rooms are spacious, the décor an understated blend of Asian and modern design. Each room has its own yoga mat. Upon request, the hotel will even provide a personal trainer to jog in the park with you. Afterwards, wind down in the hotel’s wellness area.

    • Hotel The Jane

This hotel situated in the West Village brings you right back to the New York of the 1920s, including the moderate room prices. That’s why it’s not a surprise that it once accommodated the survivors of the Titanic. Nowadays, only the interior evokes memories of the sunken steam ship. Each room is wood-panelled and designed after a ship’s cabin. The Jane Ballroom, the bar in this 100-year-old hotel, is also a sublime experience.

    • The Maritime Hotel

New York ahoy! Guests here peek down at New York through giant portholes. It's no wonder when you know this building erected in 1966 originally housed the National Maritime Union. Since being reconstructed in 2001, it’s one of the hottest boutique hotels between Chelsea and Meatpacking District. Culinary fans find not one but two top restaurants under its roof. La Bottega serves up rustic Italian cuisine. In summer dine al fresco on the deck under colourful lampions.
