Lisbon is lively, cheerful, sincere and impressive. The city is quite simply a terrific travel destination.

The metropolis is easy to get to from lots of other destinations in Europe. And once there, the sun usually shines. From the skies, and on the faces of the Lisboans, who are generally considered to be extremely warm-hearted. It also has an amazing history and a lovely Old Town with lots of cafés as well as unique architecture and culture. You’ll find modern infrastructures next to ancient charm. And you can experience the fado, the traditional Portuguese music style, up close in clubs like the Club de Fado.

Apart from the majestic Tajo river, in less than half an hour you can be on long sandy beaches to recover from the sightseeing, culture and shopping. Lisbon consists of various enchanting, characteristic quarters that are spread over seven hills, and are best explored on foot. Or, of course, on Tram 28, which has become the landmark of the city.

Nor does Lisbon sleep in the evenings or at night. There are lots of cool bars and restaurants in trendy Bairro Alto, and if you’re looking for somewhere to go dancing, you’ll be spoilt for choice. Lisbon offers visitors a multicoloured, cheerful picture that is hard to forget. It’s the perfect place to relax, whether partying, exploring the city or beside the sea.
