Nobody knows the SWISS destinations better than our staff. A restaurant that is not listed in every travel guide, an original bar, a charming café, or great tours with spectacular lookout points. Let our travel professionals inspire you with their tips.

If you stay in charming Ljubljana for a few days, take some time and discover the surrounding areas of Slovenia's capital. Drive up to the Julian alps and reach Lake Bohinj with it’s glassclear waters all the way back in the pretty Bohinj valley within about an hour. In the summer season this landscape is perfect for hiking in the Triglav Nationalpark with the stunning Mount Triglav (Slovenias highest peak) watching over the valley. Don’t be suprised if you find a lot of snow here in this area in winter and you might like to check out the ski resort of Mount Vogel, where one can still ski in a wonderful scenery at very affordable prices.

If you decide to stay for more than two days in beautiful Ljubljana, take some time and discover the surrounding areas. Most of the sites are within easy reach as Slovenia is a rather small country. Drive up to the lovely area of Lake Bled, which is only 40 minutes away, hop on a boat and get to the island «Blejski otok» with it’s famous church. Back in Bled, don’t miss a taste of the iconic «Kremsnite», a puff pastry filled with vanilla cream, at the Cafe Smon, which supposedly makes one of the tastiest ones in the country. On the way back to Ljubljana, make a stopp in the medieval town of Radovljica.

Should you end up getting hungry after a stroll through Ljubljana’s pretty old town, you might like to check this place out for supposedly the best Cevapcici’s in town: Okrepcevalnica Harambasa on the left side of the Ljubljanica river and south of the old town. This rustic restaurant is a bit off the beaten path and serves traditional Bosnian cuisine. Just follow the left side of the river all the way down to «Eipprova ulica» (street) but still follow the road along the water and the restaurant will be on your right hand side after a few meters in a quiet side street.

A cosy modern bar. If you'd like a good glass of wine, this is just the place to go. The Dvorni Bar has an excellent selection of wines. And there are fabulous views of the castle hill. Incidentally, there's also plenty to satisfy your hunger.

Cacao is close to Prešeren Square, and serves the best ice cream in the city. Simply fabulous. The queue might put you off, but it's well worth the wait. You'll be rewarded with the most amazing flavours, and can then enjoy a walk along Cankarjevo nabrežje.
