Nobody knows the SWISS destinations better than our staff. A restaurant that is not listed in every travel guide, an original bar, a charming café, or great tours with spectacular lookout points. Let our travel professionals inspire you with their tips.

With a different menu every day at Restaurant Vereinigung, it's difficult to make a choice. And a sniff in the kitchen - where the motto is «Never trust a skinny cook» - makes it even harder. What I really like about this place is that you can't book. So the chances of getting a seat and a good meal are high!

This comfortable cafe is the perfect place to come on a rainy day. The most comfortable seat is the corner sofa group in the gallery. The interior is tasteful without being chichi. It radiates an antique charm, and is just like a bistro somewhere in France. The Café des Amis has a lovely little terrace for when the weather is good. And it gets the evening sun. So it’s great for a drink after work. There is also a small menu with quiche, drinks or pasta dishes. My favourite is brunch at the weekend. It’s extremely popular, so you need to book. In good weather or bad, this bistro is my favourite.

My suggestion for Zurich is to do an adventurous foxtrail through the Zwinglistadt and discover hidden treasures of the city. Available are five different trails in German and English.

Fancy a very special kind of burger? Had enough of classic hamburgers and cheeseburgers? Then head for Holy Cow! Big on pleasure, small on prices. Exotic creations, fresh ingredients and Swiss meat combine to create the ultimate treat for the palate. All finished off with home-made sauces and chutneys. My favourite: the satay beef burger!

A visit to Dings is never a waste of time. Whether a blouse, trousers, skirt or dress, jacket or coat, I always find something – and always have done, for years! The same goes for scarves, shoes and accessories. The selection is simply terrific, and the quality is really excellent. The things I buy here are made to last. And they keep their looks. The styles, colours and fabrics are timeless and simple, but always elegant. Dings also carries Nordic labels such as ‘by Marlene Birger’, which I think are seriously cool. And if you purse is feeling the pinch a little, then it’s also a good place to come for some inspiration.

I can recommend a visit to Zurich's Thermal Baths & Spa in the Hürlimann Areal complex. The setting is simply unique! You can enjoy an unbeatable view over the city – both by day and by night – as you unwind in the relaxing bubbles of a thermal bath. A unique trip out in Zurich!

Enjoy a glass of Champagne and the wonderful views of Zurich and the Glarus Alps in a very special panoramic bar. The "Jules Verne" directly below the Urania observatory offers an unforgettable ambience. Small, cosy, extraordinary: the perfect spot for a drink with "wow" effect!

Although there are many beautiful places in the amazing city of Zurich, one particular favourite of mine is on a walk at Restaurant Felsenegg in Stallikon, near Zurich. On a clear day, it is just beautiful at the restaurant up there – the views are stunning!

Sphères is a favourite place for me in Zurich. The drinks are super, and there is a small selection of lunch snacks, cakes, sandwiches and cold meat platters. It’s a combination of bar, restaurant, bookshop and garden restaurant. Whether indoors in the comfortable ambience, outdoors in the evening sun or in the gazebo, it’s just pure relaxation.

I think that Bürkliplatz flea market is one of the loveliest markets there is. Every Saturday between May and the end of October, around 400 exhibitors display their wares. The offers range from antiques sellers to hat boutiques, stalls with second-hand bags, glass and porcelain. With all sorts of old and kitschy things in between, day exhibitors with used items and bric-a-brac. It’s lovely to stroll around it on a Saturday and treat yourself to a cup of coffee. You might even meet some friends on one of the stands, selling some of the things they no longer need. It’s this mix of professional stallholders and Saturday sellers that makes the market so special.

What I always love about Zurich is the tremendous selection of delicious, creative and cosy restaurants and cafés. Take a walk around the quarters, and you'll see it's almost impossible to find poor food anywhere. One café that I always find myself being drawn to is called «Zum Guten Glück». The menu contains sweet dishes, hearty waffles and pancakes, and although the occasional dish might sound a little bizarre, everything is so delicious that I invariably find it difficult to make a choice.
