When it’s nice and warm, you should take a trip to Pfaueninsel (‘Peacock Island’). This nature reserve is the ideal place for walks and for observing the many free ranging peacocks. The castle on Pfaueninsel is a wooden structure originally built for the Prussian king Frederic William II and his mistress Wilhelmine Enke. You should visit the interior rooms of this romantic castle: the original furnishings are still well-preserved.
