Munich appeals with its Bavarian charm, is spiced with a pinch of Italian zest, and radiates an international flair.

Two of the city’s main cultural assets are beer and the Oktoberfest, both of which visitors can find out more about in the museum as well on the street and, of course, when the first barrel is tapped in September.

Munich offers living tradition in the Hofbräuhaus, the smart set on the Maximilianstrasse with its luxury boutiques and expensive restaurants, and the casual joie de vivre of trendy residential areas such as Maxvorstadt and Haidhausen with their popular cafés, cool shops and bars. Café Puck, for instance, quite unconventionally serves breakfast until 8 pm at weekends. And if you’d rather have a picnic in the English Garden, then head for the wonderful «Viktualienmarkt» food market and enjoy its fresh products in the fresh air – in the middle of the city.

Munich is a city for everyone, and is perfect for strolling and parting, shopping or visiting museums, action or relaxation. And somehow it is only fitting that «Munich» is «Monaco» in Italian, because there’s an air of sophisticated charm everywhere, whether on the Marienplatz, the Maximilianstrasse or the ever-popular Club P1.
