    • Guze

      Mediterranean cuisine in culinary perfection
It's worth visiting this restaurant in Valletta's old town just to see its wonderful 16th-century walls. The restaurant reopened in 2011 following a long refurbishment. Now it shines in a modern new look – but still with its old glory. Guests dine on nothing less than "culinary perfection" here, created from ingredients that are as natural as possible and freshly-caught fish. The menu focuses on Mediterranean cuisine.

    • Gululu

      Plain Maltese fare
If a place is popular with the locals, then you can be sure it will also appeal to tourists. And that's the case at the Gululu in the tiny harbour of St. Julian’s. Guests can sample and enjoy plain Maltese fare here, in an uncomplicated atmosphere. They include, for instance, the typical local "frita" (Maltese pizza) from a wood-burning oven, "aljotta" (fish soup) or "torta tal-fenek" (rabbit pie). It's so close to the sea that if you sit outside you can dabble your feet in the water.

      Great-grandfather's tradition
This restaurant and wine bar are located in a 300-year-old stone-built house on a hill close to the historic centre of Meeliena. Fresh, local seasonal ingredients are used in the preparation of the dishes. Authentic Mediterranean delights are created from fresh fish and seafood and vegetables that have been able to ripen in the sun. Guests can also enjoy rustic pasta meals and home-made desserts. And by providing these delights, the chef is continuing the proud tradition started by his great-grandfather.

    • Cordina

      Family company with tradition
It started out modestly in 1837, but thanks to far-sightedness and hard work, the Cordina family soon managed to build up a coffee house of repute here in Valletta. As the years passed, they brought with them a restaurant, tea room, confectionery, coffee bar and an ice cream parlour. Not only are the home-made baked goods and confectionery exquisite, but so is the interior of the historic palace that is home to the Cordina. Its specialities are also available to purchase at the airport.

    • Hugo’s Passion

      For young party-goers
A young audience dances under disco lights here to pop and disco music. This lively club is in Paceville, the heart of Malta's "party capital". In summer, revellers escape to the terrace for fresh air and try to talk to each other over the relentless throbbing of the base. The ground floor is given over to Hugo's Lounge, a relaxing sushi restaurant and cocktail bar. It might also contain a few parents of the teenagers, waiting to take their offspring home at the end of the night.
