Nothing stands still here. Miami’s “scene” is constantly reinventing itself. At one point it’s humming in the pastel-coloured art deco building of South Beach, and then suddenly everyone heads for the trendy Design District.

However, Miami Beach, with its sandy shore, palm trees and bars that are perfect for forgetting the daily grind, is always popular. Hotels, restaurants and shops stand side by side, and in the evening the night owls emerge in flocks to get past the strict bouncers outside the popular clubs such as Mansion.

Then there’s the Wynwood Art District with its impressive exhibition halls and incomparable Street Art Walls. Art Miami has become a firm fixture on the art scene, and is an absolute highlight. Colourful, joyous and exotic sums up Little Havana, and feels like being in the Caribbean. Then to Ocean Drive for a spot of celebrity-watching – or perhaps to stroll along in a newly-acquired outfit.

And if this is all too much for you, you can escape to the Botanic Gardens at Coral Gables and leave all the hustle and lifestyle behind you for a day. Glamour, beach life, celebrities, art, shopping, drinks, restaurants and nature – welcome to Miami!
